Apply for funding
If you’re an upper limb amputee or a person with a below-elbow upper limb difference, you can apply for bionic arm funding today. Your application will be reviewed by our Board of Trustees and you’ll hear a decision within 3 months.
Donate now
You have the chance to change lives. If you believe that having four limbs is a human right, then please donate to fund advanced bionic Hero Arms for the children and adults who need it most. 100% of your donation will fund bionic arms.
DANNY
Danny lost both of his legs, his right hand and three fingers on his left hand to meningitis when he was 5-years-old. After becoming a first-time Dad, Danny received funding for a bionic Hero Arm to assist him with everyday tasks when caring for his son, Joshua.
TALLULAH
8-year-old Tallulah was born with one hand. She always hid her limb difference and struggled with confidence, so her mum applied for funding. Her mum said: “The Open Bionics Foundation and the generous donors have given Tallulah a new lease on life and we can’t thank them enough.”
TILLY
15-year-old Tilly lost both her hands as a baby to meningococcal septicaemia. For years Tilly struggled with NHS prosthetics, which were bland, heavy and had limited functionality. Tilly was the first person to receive funding from the Open Bionics Foundation’s generous donors.
The future is in their hands.
The Open Bionics Foundation was founded in 2019 in direct response to healthcare systems refusing to offer advanced technology to those who need it most. We believe that having four limbs is a human right, and work tirelessly to provide funding for people from socio-economically deprived backgrounds. The Foundation is funded entirely by donations from members of the public and is governed by an independent Board of Trustees. Thank you so much for your support.
